Show & Tell: A Soirée at Woman Made Gallery
@ Woman Made Gallery
2150 S Canalport Ave #4A-3, Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Saturday, October 21st, from 6PM - 9PM
Woman Made Gallery (WMG) is pleased to announce a night of festivities and storytelling to celebrate Woman Made and its supporters. Show & Tell, a Soirée at Woman Made Gallery will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 6 to 9 PM at Woman Made Gallery: 2150 S. Canalport, Chicago IL 60608.
This festive and fun occasion offers the larger Chicago community the opportunity to gather with WMG artists and advocates, applaud WMG milestones, and raise funds to sustain WMG’s mission of achieving artistic and economic equality for women in the arts. WMG has consistently cultivated the diverse contributions of women artists through programs that serve, educate and enrich the community. Since 1992 more than 9000+ women have exhibited their work in 450+ exhibitions.
SHOW & TELL, a Soirée at Woman Made Gallery is our first post-covid fundraising event and a welcome opportunity for the WMG community to meet again in person. The evening’s theme is storytelling (threads and weaving) where past and current supporters will share stories about how WMG has impacted and inspired their lives as artists and advocates.
The funds raised during the event will help WMG to carry out its programming and continue to provide opportunities for women artists. Our fundraising goal of $15,000 include revenue generated from tickets sales, a silent auction, raffle and corporate sponsorships.
An important secondary goal is to create a fun and memorable evening that keeps our community and fervent supporters engaged and acknowledged.
The Soirée includes door prizes, delicious appetizers and a wine bar, a silent auction, mystery bags, a raffle and music. The exhibition, Time Memory Mythos with gorgeous artwork will be on display with curator Monica J. Brown introducing the theme.
Sharing their WMG stories are Roberta Allen, Boisali Biswas, Monica J. Brown, Lydia Burris, Pamela Callahan, Pritika Chowdhry, Nina Corwin, Yolanda Fernandez-Shebeko, Jae Green, Marcia Grubb, Shirley Guay and Rosalie Koldan, Natalie Jackson, Shelly Jyoti, Felicia Grant Preston, Karen Rechtschaffen, Caren Helene Rudman, Kelly Hensen, Beate Minkovski, Babette Wainwright, Kathleen Waterloo, and more.
Admission tickets are $85 prepaid or $90 at the door with all proceeds benefiting WMG and its programs. Any donation above the price of admission is tax-deductible. We also have various sponsorship opportunities available.
