THIS IS YOUR ALLOWANCE is a group show exploring the parallels between artists’ work and mothers’ work. Through sculpture, photography, collage, painting, and textiles, the artists examine their own bodies, experiences, and pieces of the mundane, to create otherworldly landscapes and reimagined portraits.
THIS IS YOUR ALLOWANCE is part of the Taking Up Space initiative, a grassroots global art exhibition for artists of genders underrepresented in the art world.
The show will be on view at Positive Space Studios (3520 W. Fullerton Ave) from May 6–June 3, with an opening reception on May 6, from 5-8pm.

There will be an Artist Talk with Deirdre Colgan Jones, Kimmy Noonen, and Kathryn Rodrigues on May 11 at 6:30pm, and a family friendly workshop with artist Kelley Clink on May 21 from 2-4pm. For more information about the show, visit positivespacestudios.com.
