Please join us Friday, October 21, 7:00-10:00 p.m., for the opening reception of “Almost True: Self-Portraits” by David Hauptschein. 42 never-before-seen self-portraits will be exhibited in this, spacious fourth floor gallery. This collection of pictures is slightly darker and more twisted than those in Hauptschein’s portrait show currently on view at Rare Nest Gallery in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood until November 15.
The reception is part of Zhou B Art Center’s regular Third Friday open house celebration, where artists throughout the building open their studios to the public. It’s always a lively and unpretentious scene, so join the fun!
Two recent books of Hauptschein’s artwork (“Altered Ego: Self-Portraits” and “The Unreality Show”) as well as two volumes of his collected plays will be available for purchase.
Note: There is free parking in the lot directly to the east of Zhou B Art Center. You can enter the building from the front or the rear.
