Climate and Affordable Housing: Envisioning a Greener, More Equitable Future
@ Weinberg/Newton Gallery
688 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago IL 60642
Opening Saturday, May 7th, from 1PM - 3PM
Please join Mercy Housing Lakefront, Sunrise Movement and Weinberg/Newton Gallery for a workshop connecting climate change and issues related to housing.
The program and exhibition addresses the housing crisis, where many people are either without housing or unable to afford quality housing. We must fight for sustainable, affordable and green housing options for those affected by this crisis.
Mercy Housing Lakefront will share a brief overview of the history of affordable housing in the Chicago metropolitan area, their efforts to advance sustainability through the development and operations of their affordable housing portfolio, and how individuals can get involved to influence the development of housing in their communities.
Sunrise Movement will lead an engaging discussion and workshop, reimagining the future of housing through the lens of the climate crisis.
Reservations are recommended but not required.
