@ Fulton Market Kitchen
311 N Sangamon St, Chicago, IL 60607
Opening Thursday, March 10th, from 5PM - 9PM
This coming Thursday, March 10th from 6PM — 9PM, we will be welcoming Clara Lu to Fulton Market Kitchen! She will be painting and showcasing her artwork to our guests throughout the dinner service.
Clara Lu (b. 2000, Chengdu, Sichuan, China) is currently a senior student pursuing her B.F.A. in the school of the Art Institute of Chicago as a Distinguished Merit Scholarship Recipient.
As a painter, she paints the everyday life of workers in her hometown of Chengdu, Sichuan. She believes these workers are undervalued by secular standards and experience ignorance and views this form of ignorance as invisible violence. In a city with limited resources and an excessive population, this kind of ignorance leads to a number of problems; These people are facing tougher conditions of survival while diligently going about their daily jobs but earning only a meager income, especially since the global pandemics began. Her works want to show their power and beauty both physically and psychologically, to make them visible and tangible.
You can see more of her work on her Instagram @clara_lu_studio
