a solo exhibition by deborah handler
Beckett’s 4 certitudes:
1. he is born
2. he is living
3. he will die
4. and for reasons known and unknowable cannot keep silent.
“Improvisation is a (the) fundamental aspect of my approach to making. I take from the immediacy of the now but threads carry through…. Monk’s compositions and his performances follow from a variety of sources and the specificity of the moment in the act of expression.”
Larger work, (“tea for two” Monk’s version) consists of free-standing sculptures, drawings, and wall works.
Please join us for an opening reception with drinks and snacks on Saturday, Feb 12th at 6pm. We are located at 1918 S Canalport Avenue, Chicago IL, 60616. The exhibition runs through April 9, 2022.
