Lion vs. Gorilla: Internal / External
@ Roman Susan
1224 W Loyola Ave, Chicago, IL 60626
Opening Sunday, November 14th, from 1PM - 5PM
Drawing inspiration from the Happenings of the 1960s and Fluxus interventions, Internal / External reflects on the nature of ritual during the pandemic: absurdist rituals (building with egg salad within an enclosed building) as well as the safety-specific rituals we have engaged in during covid in hopes of avoiding sickness.
Lion vs Gorilla build improvisational forms responding to Roman Susan’s architecture using bread and egg salad as analogues to bricks and mortar.
Please note: indoor attendee capacity will be limited to two people at a time.
This durational action is a part of the exhibition IZAH + JUNEER, in-corporated: A*Hiccup In Time. More info about this project at romansusan.org/a-hiccup-in-time
Lion vs. Gorilla is a Chicago-based curatorial collaboration with a mission of encouraging collaboration, fostering community, and challenging barriers between artists and viewers. More info at hgeocities.ws/lionvsgorilla
