This lecture will include earlier works of art to his most current body of work that consists of human and animal figures carved from found objects and materials, including brick. Berti incorporates his interest in environmental issues and both personal and universal experiences.
His sculptures are a response to the material, created by a gradual and subtractive process, revealing what is in his heart and on his mind. As a result, his work captures a moment in time, a sense of mystery, and sometimes even whimsy.
