Making Art Wherever You Are: a workshop on the business of murals + travel
@ The Martin
2500 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622
Opening Friday, September 10th, from 6PM - 7PM
On view through Sunday, September 12th
Are you curious about how to approach mural projects? Do you want to travel and support yourself painting along the way? How do you even find opportunities and then approach executing the oversized project?
These questions and more will be covered in this one hour workshop led by artists José Luis Vílchez & Megan Pryce. Both artists have worked and painted together for years, collaborating on the mural that overtakes the Art We There Yet bus which will be parked outside of The Martin for the evening.
This event is happening in-person at The Martin but also offered in a virtual setting if you cannot attend!
Stick around after the event for open gallery hours to check out photographs & paintings by our instructors from 7-8pm, followed by a performance event led by Art We There Yet resident musician, Cora Rose.
All guests are required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. If guests choose to stay after the event and purchase from the bar, they will be. required to prove vaccination status.
The Martin & Split-Rail are both ADA accessible. If you have any questions on accessibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
