Ambient Encounters: Eco-Orientation at Steelworkers Park is a soundwalk focusing on the orientation of the body to the ecological landscape at Steelworkers Park. The soundwalk will incorporate cardinal point listening meditations, eco-poetics, and light movement.

Led by Veronica Salinas, a Tejana sound-based artist, writer, researcher, and listener. Her work explores performance, improvisation, site specificity, ambient sensibilities, and experimental narratives. She holds an MFA in Sound from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Presented by Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Night Out In the Parks brings arts and culture to over 500 parks across the city, free and open for public participation.
