In 2020, Candor Arts, Chicago, published Papi, a comprehensive survey of artist Oli Rodriguez’s long-term multimedia work The Papi Project (2010-20). A cornerstone of Rodriguez’s practice for over a decade, The Papi Project documented histories of HIV/AIDS in Chicago, digital technology’s effects on queer sex culture, and shifting definitions of family over the past forty years. In the current exhibition at Iceberg Projects, the artist — working with curator John Neff and gallery Assistant Director Maggie Wong — will celebrate the release of Papi in the context of an archival exhibition looking back at past presentations of The Papi Project.
Limited editioned books will be available for purchase at the opening and by request via email.
