Amplify Series 2020-21 Commissions Concert

@ Poetry Foundation

Online

Opening Friday, May 21st, from 7 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us for a concert celebrating multidisciplinary collaboration with LYNX’s Amplify Series, a project that grew out of the Autism Advocacy Series. Amplify advocates for the voices of neurodiverse individuals, and adds important new repertoire to the classical vocal music genre.

The concert features art songs by composers Nico Gutierrez, Michelle Isaac, Liza Sobel, Pierce Gradone, and Mike McFerron, and performed by soprano Kristina Bachrach, mezzo soprano Leah Dexter, baritone Nicholas Ward, and pianist Daniel Baer interpreting the work of writers who identify as neurodiverse, including Aiden Levy, Pablo Hernandez, Mitchell Robins, and Benjamin Smidt.

The pre-recorded concert, aired via Zoom, will be followed by a live Q&A with the writers, composers, and performers. If you have questions for the writers, composers, or performers, please submit them in advance to events@poetryfoundation.org.

Cosponsored with the LYNX Project

Poetry Foundation’s events are completely free of charge and open to the public. This concert will include live captioning and ASL interpretation and be a relaxed virtual performance setting. If you require any other accessibility measures, please contact us by emailing events@poetryfoundation.org.
