19 in 2021 by Nat Pyper is an ongoing sci-fi serial focusing on four queer, Latinx friends traversing a near-future reality that imagines an eerily possible vision of surveillance-based late capitalism. Bending dimensions, gender, relationships, and identity, part 3 continues with 4 more entries that are illuminated with love, camaraderie, loss, grief, and indignation.
Part 3 is being launched and printed by Martian Press and you can purchase your copy over at their shop! (martianpress.storenvy.com)
This reading is an extension of the 19 in 2021: A Drone’s Eye View project.
19 in 2021: A Drone’s Eye View project was a website adaptation of Nat Pyper’s sci-fi serial of the same name and an online exhibition featuring new works by Bárbara Baron, Julio Córdova, and Marissa Macias. The artists in this virtual exhibition explored the world and themes depicted in 19 in 2021 through moving images, soundscapes, and fashion. This project was selected through the SCP+C 2020 open call program funded by the 2019 Propeller Fund Grant and was hosted by Chuquimarca.
