Q&A with Artist Paul Branton

Springboard Arts invites the public to join an in-depth artist talk with Chicago artist Paul Branton, whose work is featured in the gallery’s “Illuminate” exhibit.
Born in Chicago in 1973, Branton was influenced at an early age by the sights and sounds of the South Side’s urban environment. Combining other art forms like filmmaking and poetry with his paintings, the art of Paul Branton has been featured in a variety of galleries, including Millikin University, South Side Community Art Center, Gallery Guichard, University of Illinois at Chicago, Gallery D’Estee, Phoenix Gallery, NYCH Gallery, Chicago Truborn, Legendary Gallery, Galleryna 19, Art Basel Miami and Hyde Park Art Center. Branton recently served as a Juror for the 50th anniversary of Black Creativity hosted by Museum of Science and Industry in 2020. He is currently working on his upcoming coffee table book, To Dream in Colour.
The talk will be facilitated by Erica Hubbard, Associate Director of Civic Relations and Partnerships at Art Institute of Chicago.
