HG is pleased to present its first exhibition with Chicago based artists, Hyun Jung Jun & Cody Tumblin. Their exhibition, A Long Sleep Before Spring will feature a new body of paintings and candles. Please join us for the opening on February 6th from 12 to 5 pm.
Hyun Jung Jun (b.1989) lives and works in Chicago, IL where she received her BFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014 and is currently pursuing her MFA at Northwestern University. Through various mediums including installation, sculpture, photography, drawing and performance, Jun’s work explores the relationship between body and landscape in everyday life. Jun’s work has been included in exhibitions across Chicago and has participated in the Alchemy residency in Ontario, Canada and the Vermont Studio Center residency in Johnson, VT.
Cody Tumblin (b. 1991 Nashville, TN) lives and works in Chicago, IL where he received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. Recent solo exhibitions including Devening Projects, Mild Climate, Good Enough, SPF 15, LVL3 and The Outlet Gallery. Recent group exhibitions include Egg Collective, Everybody, No Place Gallery, Andrew Rafacz, Chicken Coop Contemporary, and Good Naked. Tumblin is a 2020 Newcity Breakout Artist, Hopper Prize Finalist and his work has been published in Art Maze, Vast Magazine, Hunted Projects, and Comp Magazine. Recently, Tumblin released a community collaborative cookbook titled Today’s Special with Extended Play Press.
