Tsukasa Taiko celebrates the 17th anniversary of Taiko Legacy concert with a world premiere livestream presentation from the Edlis Neeson Theater at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. This year’s special program features the youth and adult community members alongside National Gintenkai Project performers and Chicago creative musicians.
The resonating thunder of taiko drums, the precision of traditional Japanese dance and the delicately emotive sound of the Shamisen share the stage when the multigenerational Tsukasa Taiko performs a fascinating and highly entertaining mix of original compositions and arrangements in a broad range of musical styles from ozashiki (geisha chamber music) to minyo (folk music) to ohayashi (classical/folk/theater music) and matsuri taiko (festival taiko music).
Taiko Legacy 17 will be airing on stream.airmw.org as well as the following platforms by our co-curators.
