Grab some blank paper, your dearest pen, and your favorite beverage for a Drink & Draw Death Cafe this coming Friday, December 4th at 7:30PM CT hosted by artist Rob Kelsey & death doula Rian Lussier.
A Drink & Draw is exactly what it sounds like, a gathering where we sketch & sip: simultaneously drafting away at your own piece while enjoying a glass of your choice, whereas a Death Cafe is a safe space to talk and listen to thoughts, questions, and curiosities we have on dying and death! They exist to carve a space where people can connect, share, and support in discussing what can sometimes feel like a taboo topic. Death Cafes foster fluidity, inclusion, and vulnerability – they exist without an agenda or dogma.
Due to the pandemic, you can Zoom into this one from the comfort of your own abode.
So gather your materials (not limited to paper arts!) and garner your death-y thoughts for an open conversation on the most universal subject. This event is free but due to the intimate nature of the event space is very limited!
Please note – This is not a grief support group or counseling session. If you are interested in pursuing either of those, please do not hesitate to reach out, I am happy to provide you with resources (rian@songforautumn.com).
