To celebrate the launch of his second capsule collection for the MCA, designer and creative director Joe Freshgoods invites us into his studio to explore his creative process. Hear about his COVID-19 response project, “Community Goods,” an exclusive line of clothing that directs 100% of all proceeds to small Chicago businesses and non-profit organizations. Learn more about Joe’s co-ownership of Fat Tiger Works, his passion for Chicago, and his philosophy on storytelling and streetwear in this virtual experience moderated by Michael Darling, MCA Chief Curator.

about the artist
Joe Freshgoods is a designer and creative director from the West Side of Chicago. He uses a unique blend of brand narrative, historical, and cultural references, which allow him to create authentic connections with streetwear lovers all over the world. A co-owner of Chicago creative hub Fat Tiger Works, Freshgoods’s unique approach has led to partnerships with brands across the world like AT&T, McDonald’s, the Chicago Bears, and New Balance. His collections feature in magazines like Vogue, GQ, and Complex. An avid proponent of arts education, his real mission is to tell stories through his collections.
