Guest Artist: Yewon Kwon

Spend an evening making zines using one of the world’s simplest book forms! Yewon Kwon will guide us through this no-stitch, no-staple, no-tape, simple folded technique for any 8-page zine! Our first prompt will be the new rituals we’ve created during this time: baking bread? growing onions? taking walks? counting birds? You could also draw cartoons of your loved ones, or illustrate eight things you love about your pet, your kitchen, your neighborhood…. Once you get the hang of it, you might make some blank books filled with doodling prompts, to mail to your friends and family. These are so fun and easy that your newest ritual might just be 8-page zine making!

Drink & Draw [Virtual] is a low-key drop-in social workshop devoted to staying creative from home. There are no pretensions and newcomers are always welcome, so invite your friends to join! Each Drink & Draw [Virtual] features a new guest artist and a new theme or project that uses pencil, paper, and everyday household supplies. Don’t have a sketchbook? Hosts will help you improvise. Events are currently scheduled each Wednesday through May 6. Find us on Zoom, a free app for your phone or computer. And of course: BYOB!
