Meshell Ndegeocello
@ Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
220 E Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60611
Opening Friday, March 6th, from 7PM - 8:30PM
Join an array of emerging and established musicians for intimate evenings of performance and conversation that reveal their inspirations, creative processes, and projects.
This spring, the MCA pairs powerhouse women who are pushing the boundaries of musical genres with prolific artists, activists, writers, and thinkers from Chicago and beyond to take on big ideas in art and culture, grounded in performance, personal experiences, and playful collaboration.
Singer-songwriter and bassist, Meshell Ndegeocello is credited with having “sparked the neo-soul movement,” but her musical palette ranges from funk and soul to reggae, hip-hop, and rock. Having worked alongside Prince, Madonna, Missy Elliot, The Rolling Stones, and others, Ndegeocello is joined by spoken-word artist, LBGTQ activist, author, and her long-time collaborator, Staceyann Chin, for a pared-down evening of conversation and experimentation.
**Tickets on sale to MCA Members on December 4 at noon. Tickets on sale to the general public on December 5 at noon.**
