@ Gallery Studio Oh!
4839 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60625
Opening Friday, March 6th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Friday, March 27th
Tales Told is a 2-Person Exhibition featuring assemblage and collage work by Kass Copeland and color pencil drawings by Jillian Dickson.
Kass Copeland rescues discarded furniture and household items from alleys and searches junk shops for objects and old photos that have stories to tell that are then transformed into elaborate 3-D assemblages and 2-D collages. The puzzling together of previously unrelated objects and images is similar to forming a poem that reveal new associations with elements that already have separate histories.
Jillian Dickson explores the culture of femininity through the lens of the functioning female body. The last two bodies of her work “My Undies” and “Beneath My Skin” specifically explore the female experience through the visual imagery of female underwear and pregnancy.
Opening Reception: Friday, March 6, 6-9pm
