ABOUT THE FOLIO:
Tracing Faults (Chicago Artists Coalition) and its companion exhibition To Unmake a Fold (University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery) reside in two polarized Illinoisan cities with a history of ideological discord and that share significant influence over the governance of our state. The placement of these exhibitions expresses a desire to undo those rifts between us.
This folio serves as a traveler’s companion to Tracing Faults and To Unmake a Fold. The contents include printed objects from Mark Blanchard, Cass Davis, kwabena foli, and Kelly Kristin Jones. It is a collection of artifacts, cards, and poems prompted by the works each artist included in the two exhibitions.
As a portable object capable of traversing between these two exhibitions, this folio seeks to bridge the geographical, social and political chasms that divide us.
The making of the folio is supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
