Douglass not Douglas: A President’s Day Teach-In

Join the 7th grade class of Village Leadership Academy on President’s Day to learn more about our campaign to change the name of Douglas Park to honor orator, abolitionist, and freedom fighter Frederick Douglass instead of slaveholder Stephen Douglas.
Our teach-in will highlight our campaign and the work we’ve done in the past 3 years as well as the historical legacies of Stephen Douglas and Frederick Douglass. The teach-in is free & open to the public from 1-2pm at Douglas Park Field House (1401 S. Sacramento Blvd.) E-mail Ms. Pagan at jpagan@vlacademy.org if you have any further questions.
