The Art of the Self Pitch is the first workshop in a four workshop series led by Juliet Dawn called Prepare for Opportunity: a professional development workshop!

Whether you struggle to describe the purpose of your new project or freeze when asked “So what do you do?”, this workshop will help you build clear, concise language about your work, how you do it, and why. We will focus primarily on artist statements and professional summaries, with translatable strategies for personal bios and project descriptions. This hands-on format will provide time and space for constructive feedback within small group pairings. Attendees are encouraged to bring a personal statement sample, though it is not required.

Objectives:
+ Introduce exercises for combating writer’s block
+ Establish language that reflects your value system and professional practice
+ Develop a concise revision process
+ Real-time feedback on how others interpret your material

Other events in this series include:
+ Clarifying Your Values: a professional development workshop
+ Mapping Out Your Action Plan
