Everyone has a different soundtrack for the city. What’s yours?

This new monthly low-key listening event invites you to bring a favorite record (or, ok, stream works, too) by a Chicago artist or group. Play something from it and tell us about it — what it means to you or your community, where you first heard it, anything about the record or the people who made it. (And if those people were you, awesome!)

Each month features a special guest to share some of their favs. This month: Lady J of Ladies of Soul and Windy City Soul Club.

No genre restrictions, all are welcome. Kids are welcome, though we will not restrict music content so please use your own judgement 🙂 BYOB, you’re welcome to bring food as well. We’ll end by 8pm so you can go out and listen to more of what the city has to offer.

Read/Write Library Chicago is wheelchair accessible (through our Walton entrance) and all of our restrooms are gender neutral. We strive to create a safe and welcoming space and invite you to contact us with any needs or questions at info@readwritelibrary.org

$5 suggested donation (no one turned away for lack of funds or for giving more)
