Join us for a joint book launch of Everything Must Go and Can I Kick It?, featuring Chicago poet and editor Kevin Coval and award-winning BreakBeat poet and playwright Idris Goodwin. Coval is the author of 10 books, including A People’s History of Chicago; coeditor of The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop; and artistic director of Young Chicago Authors. Goodwin is a poet, a playwright, and the author of the Pushcart Prize-nominated essay and poetry collection These Are the Breaks; his chapbook Inauguration won the 2017 Literary Arts Award from the Pikes Peak Arts Council. Coval and Goodwin cowrote the play This Is Modern Art.
