Through A Lens Intimate
@ Comfort Station
2579 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Monday, September 9th, from 7PM - 9PM
In partnership with POWER Project, Through a Lens Intimate is a two-part program series centering the realities and work of Black lens-based and photo adjacent artists. Selected image makers will illuminate the depths of their work, methodology, and themselves through an evening of storytelling.
The intention of Through A Lens Intimate, is primarily for Black audiences to engage and dialogue about the motivations compelling Black artists to produce work that is the most dear to them. Through A Lens Intimate centers how important art is to actualizing oneself and honor lived experiences.
Hosted by G’Jordan Williams and Zakkiyyah Najeebah of Concerned Black Image Makers.
CBIM holds fellowship and organizes with Black lens-based artists to exchange ideas, methods, and concerns that prioritize shared black diasporic perspectives.
We prioritize the critical connections between lens-based practices and the demand for visual integrity.
Part I, Sep 2nd 6-8pm
Chip Moody & G’Jordan Williams
Part II, Sep 9th 7-9pm
