Hello Trikone Chicago!
We had an exceptional Pride month but we are not finished yet! We’re pleased to announce that we’re partnering with Tribhang an arts-focused nonprofit, to bring you a community arts evening.
Our vision is to provide the members of our South Asian LGBTQ community a platform to express themselves. Whether you are extroverted or shy, express yourself through words or music, and no matter what language you speak, this is your space.
We’re excited to announce our lineup of artists!
# Laksha Dantran, classical dance artist
# Sonal Aggarwal, stand-up comedian
# Colin Mascarenhas, Odissi artist
# Malav Naik, classical dance artist
# Pekky Divya Marquez, writer and activist
# Stuti Sharma, artist, stand up comic, poet, and educator
Artist performances will be interspersed with open mic slots, open to all attendees
Tickets are on Eventbrite (link below). Tickets are free, with a suggested donation of $5-$20. Please consider donating (on the same ticket link). Funds raised will go to the artists and Trikone Chicago.
For open mic signups, drop us a note on the Facebook event or e-mail us at support@trikonechicago.org.
We are a group of ordinary LGBTQ people coming together to do something extraordinary, and we’re hoping to hold events like this regularly, so our voices can be heard within and outside the community.
We look forward to holding a powerful and engaging event with you all! Come through and make some noise!

About Tribhang:
Tribhang, a not-for-profit organization, believes in “Art with a Purpose”. Tribhang was founded when two artists, Shiwali Varshney and Sonali Sinha Srivastava, and human rights activist Sean Tenner, came together. Sonali and Shiwali were looking to use their arts education to create a meaningful impact for building stronger, compassionate and informed communities. Sean, who had lead numerous purpose-driven non-profit organizations, was looking at effective ways to create dialogue on human rights issues. Hence, an idea was born and Tribhang came to life.
Every year Tribhang picks a topic and organizes performance events to bring awareness to the topic and raise funds for an organization dedicated to the cause. for 2019-2020 year, Tribhang is focusing on LGBTQ rights in South Asian community and all funds raised will support the programming, the artists, and support Trikone.
