Tarot Reader Meet-up
@ DePaul Art Museum
935 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL 60614
Opening Sunday, July 28th, from 2PM - 4PM
Come meet other local tarot enthusiasts, learn a little something, trade readings, and make new friends! At this two-hour event, we’ll begin with an open discussion on the topic of “Tarot Symbolism.” Your tarot deck is overflowing with symbols—some obvious and some not so obvious. What do they all mean and how can we use them in readings? We’ll talk about visual symbols in the Waite-Smith tarot and shift to interpreting the symbols found in any deck. In the second half, we’ll break into smaller groups to trade readings with each other. This meet-up is free and open to tarot readers of all skill levels, from total beginners to full-time professionals! Attendees are asked to bring at least one tarot deck of their own (ideally a Waite-Smith based deck due to the discussion topic).
About the facilitators: Kristen Kaniewski and Ethan Schleeter are artists, museum professionals, and certified tarot readers who have been active in various Chicago tarot groups for the past few years. They have presented on subjects such as “Using Crystals in Your Tarot Practice” and “The History of Tarot.”
