Land Justice Workshop – Family Action Day!
@ First Nations Garden
Wilson and Pulaski, Chicago, IL 60651
Opening Saturday, July 27th, from 1PM - 3PM
What are we doing to decolonize and reconcile with our Indigenous Brothers, Sisters & two-Spirit relatives?
To stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples we need to understand our role in the erasure of their lives and culture and the contemporary stories.
Over the course of 6 months we will meet one Saturday of the month to learn about Colonization and Resistance of Indigenous People, specially in the area of the Great Lakes.
This is the 3rd event of the series and it focuses on Land Justice including a Work Day at the 1st Nation’s Garden.
The event will consist of story telling, discussion, fun activities and a chance to help build within the garden. We will work on the zine at every event with the intention of having a resource that we can share at the end of the series.
This is a family event, which means children, teens and adults are encouraged to participate and work together.
The event is open to everyone and there’s room for Many MANY people, so please commit to come, bring friends, bring strangers that will become friends, if you can and want to break sweat or simply come & gather with us!
Suggested donation: 10 per person / 20 per family.
All funds will go to Chi-Nations Youth Council. Please, donate what you can, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
