The Printer’s Row Lit Fest is considered the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest. The annual festival draws more than 125,000 book lovers to the two-day showcase.
This year’s headlining authors include National Book Award-winner Joyce Carol Oates (“Beautiful Days”); debut novelist and The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli (“The Perfume Burned His Eyes”); poet, soul singer, songwriter and Chance the Rapper collaborator Jamila Woods; bestselling Swedish novelist Fredrik Backman (“A Man Called Ove”); Chicago Tribune Young Adult Literary Award-winning author David Levithan (“Boy Meets Boy”); and World Series Champion David Ross (“Teammate”).
Food lovers can view cooking demos by renowned and celebrity chefs, including One Off Hospitality Group restaurateur and James Beard Award-winning chef Paul Kahan (“Cheers to the Publican, Repast and Present”); Top Chef winner and Girl and the Goat owner Stephanie Izard (“Gather and Graze”); bellyQ restaurant group founder Bill Kim (“Korean BBQ”); and PBS-TV’s Mexico-One Plate at a Time host Rick Bayless (“More Mexican Everyday”).
Cultural enthusiasts will enjoy presentations from cartoonists including nationally syndicated Sylvia creator Nicole Hollander (“We Ate Wonder Bread”) and frequent New Yorker cover artist Chris Ware (“Monograph”); and Harold Washington Literary Prize winner Rabih Alameddine (“The Angel of History”).
Supporting the robust lineup of author events, Lil Lit Park will showcase family-themed performances and activities.
