Saturday Studio: Open Spin & Crate-Digging

This series will explore how individuals grapple with participating in sub-cultures that are built upon the rejection or lack of acceptance of their identity, but actively making change within in. Conversations around how we emerge from cancel culture, into growth culture as we continue to build and define what art does in our present moment and
foreseeable future.
1 – 2PM: Spin Hour with Patient Sounds
2 – 3PM: Dialogue with Bianca Xunise + Alicia Gaines
Illustrator and Cartoonist Xunise, alongside Musician and Art Director Gaines, will be exploring their love of Goth and Punk as black women who defy the stereotypes put forth by culture and the narratives put forth by the music industry that erase black history within these rock genres.
Patient Sounds will be playing live vinyl prior to the dialogue. Come hang, talk your shoes off and enjoy the company of others united around tunes.
