Madison Jones: Impact
@ Metro Chicago
3730 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60613
Opening Wednesday, April 17th, from 7PM - 8PM
Born and raised outside of Los Angeles city Madison grew up in a diverse background. At a young age she always loved expressing herself whether it be through art or her everyday social interactions. She is a loud spunky person and will continue to thrive in that outgoing and determined manner. Madison studied at Cornell College in Iowa with a major in studio art and minor in gender studies/ cultural anthropology.
Madison uses her cis-white female privilege to use her body in hopes of gaining understanding of the way society categorizes women and other minorities. She executes this as a way to confront social issues through performance of clay sculpture, mixed found objects, and her body. She conceptualizes the pieces you see today based on personal experiences as a women in today’s society. As well as being a conduit to the voices of other minorities to confront the discrimination oppressed groups face within the limiting molds of the people
