trau·ma
/ˈtroumə,ˈtrômə/
a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.
Origin, late 17th century: from Greek, literally ‘wound’
With TRAUMA, curator and gallery owner Kimberly Oliva gathers a unpreceded amount of artists in Oliva Gallery’s history. If this exhibition’s work required to acknowledge one’s wounds, it also decenters the conversation from a strictly individual standpoint so that we remember the collective nature of trauma.
TRAUMA: a group exhibition will run through March 30th, 2019. Many of the artists will be presented at the opening reception Friday March 8th5-10pm. Gallery hours are every Saturday from 12-4pm & by appointment. For additional information please contact Kimberly Oliva: 847-922-5736
