Big Read Kick-Off Event: Views of Global Migration: Haiti

Mario LaMothe will present a performance at the MoCP in response to the experiences of Haitian immigrants, in conjunction with the exhibition Stateless: Views of Global Migration and the NEA Big Read initiative at Columbia.
LaMothe uses oral history and journalistic accounts to narrate Haitian immigrants’ physical transformation during their captivity in American detention facilities. He is an artist and assistant professor at University of Illinois at Chicago.
