As part of the 40th season at Links Hall, Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist Marina Cortes Calle presents The Rise of Fascism in Brazil: Ele Não. This event aims to create social awareness about the threats to democracy and human rights and the rise of authoritarian and fascist politics in Brazil during the latest elections. The presenters invite the audience to actively engage and participate on creating strategies of social activism that can be implemented in local and global communities. Why is Bolsonaro a menace to human rights? How can we create new strategies to re-frame political activism and social movements from an ethical perspective? How an we support human rights global and local movements? Performed by LGBTQ+ artists from SP Ana Giselle (Transalien), Marina Resende, Fefa Ferreira and Cecilia Resende
