David Boyle: To Be Determined
@ Givins Castle, Beverly Unitarian Church
10244 S Longwood Dr, Chicago, IL 60643
Opening Saturday, February 23rd, at 7PM
“To Be Determined”, an evening of personal stories written and performed by David Boyle, will be presented at the Givins Castle (Beverly Unitarian Church) 10244 S. Longwood Drive on Saturday February 23rd. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7pm.
Boyle has performed his one-man shows at the Elgin, Minnesota, St. Louis and Indianapolis Fringe Festivals as well as many venues in Chicago.
“Each of my solo shows contains 3-5 sections or scenes. I also have some stand-alone stories that aren’t in my longer shows,” said Boyle, a resident of Morgan Park. “I asked Elgin based artist Chris Palm to draw an illustration for each one of these individual stories. During the show I ask audience members to choose their favorite illustrations and then I tell the stories associated with those drawings.”
The show is called “To Be Determined” because Boyle won’t know which stories he’ll be telling until the audience decides. This show won the Audience Favorite award at the 2017 Elgin Fringe Festival.
Palm’s illustrations are also used in a greeting card collection with text written by Boyle. The JK/LOL
Collection includes 18 different cards and will be available for purchase.
Suggested donation is $20 and can be made in advance at Heritage Gallery 1907 W 103rd Street or by calling (773) 719-7059.
