December Tatreez (Palestinian Embroidery) Workshop
@ MAS-ICNA Convention
301 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60616
Opening Friday, December 28th, from 10AM - 11PM
Join us at the Watan Pop-Up at the 2018 MAS ICNA Conference in Chicago as we host another Tatreez Workshop!
This particular workshop will be an all-day ongoing event for the weekend of the convention. We welcome all skill levels, ages, and backgrounds (unless you support initiatives like MLI 😒) to attend. If you are a beginner, we will have a short lesson, materials on hand, and printed patterns to help get you started. For more experienced embroiders, we welcome you to bring your own work as we all embroider together; we also welcome you to bring samples of your work to show us! If you’ve attended a previous workshop, feel free to attend again and bring your piece to continue working on it. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. So come by, read, check out our booth, and learn some tatreez with Watan!

Watan is a community space and arts studio focused on exploring Palestinian intellectual, cultural, and historical heritage. Originally created as an online shop, Watan has developed into a brick-and-mortar shop, studio, and community space, set on providing a specifically Palestinian-centered space in the dense Chicagoland Palestinian community. We hope to hold various events and workshops in the space and continue to support creative and rigorously disciplined Palestinian work.
To find out more about Watan, check our website out (www.watanpalestine.com) and find us on various social media channels like Instagram (@watanpalestine), Twitter (@watanpalestine), and Facebook (@watanstudio).
