The Condo Association Presents “Masturbating To the Sound of Music”, a group exhibition of works by musician/artists and artworks informed by bodily sound. Functioning like onomatopoeias that disarm language, these paintings, videos, sculptures and audio works glimpse into the guttural, liquid, fleshy, wheezing, boney ways that our bodies make and take sounds.
The title “Masturbating to the Sound of Music” also acts as a metaphor for the solo artist at work, “getting off” on their own ideas and physicalizing gestures, all while music, podcasts, or radio play out in the background.
