Join the Social Justice Initiative as we host a conversation with Boots Riley, writer and director of the critically acclaimed film, Sorry to Bother You. Riley will Skype in to engage in a dialog with a panel of Chicago activist and audience members about creating the film, activism in 2018, and organizing around labor rights.
Riley is a producer, screenwriter, political organizer, community activist, and artist. His latest film, “Sorry to Bother You” is about a corrupt telemarketing company making millions off of slave labor, and one Oakland man at the center of it all who discovers a secret that threatens all of humankind. His dystopian social satire was hailed as one of the best movies in theatres this past summer.
