POWER Project: Time Salon – Collaborative Economies
@ Comfort Station Logan Square
2579 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Thursday, June 7th, from 5PM - 7:30PM
This event is part of the Time Salon series. The Time Salon is a facilitated gathering offered by The Kola Nut Collaborative which guides participants through dialogue and practice in communal asset mapping, social economy, and non-monetary exchange. In this intentional space, we challenge the idea that participation in a framework of economic exchange necessitates the use of the dollar as currency.

Theme: Collaborative Economies: A Workshop & Screening of Katie Teague’s “Money & Life”
“Money & Life” is a film about transforming our relationship with money by mining the recent history of economic crises for lessons on what it can tell us about human behavior and how the design of money incentivizes many of our most destructive impulses. In “Money & Life”, Katie Teague employs expert interviews, testimonies, and dynamic animation in order to craft a new narrative of money which requires humanity to adjust our interaction with the environment and shift our understanding of prosperity in order to build more beautiful possible futures.
