Releasing the Past & Embracing the Magic of the Unknown
with Rhonda Wheatley

In this workshop, we’ll sample tools for working through and transmuting emotional pain from the past, followed by a writing exercise and guided meditation with energy healing to assist in the letting-go process. Next, we’ll discuss ways to not only navigate the discomfort of unknowns in our lives, but to embrace the unknown by shifting our thoughts and habits to welcome and even invoke its magic. Attendees will each receive a small black tourmaline crystal and suggestions for how to harness its negativity-absorbing and grounding properties.
While many tend to relate darkness to negativity, in this workshop “the dark” is an enveloping space where lessons, change, and growth crystalize, much like a cocoon. It’s a space of pure potentiality where magic happens, often exceeding our hopes. Lastly, numerous dark or black crystals, such as the black tourmaline, are capable of both absorbing our negative energy and helping us to heal and ground our energy.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from Illinois Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Illinois General Assembly.
