Resist: What Do We Mean? How Do We Do It?
@ The Bronzeville Incubator
300 E 51st St, Chicago, IL 60615
Opening Sunday, December 10th, from 3PM - 5:30PM
When Trump won last year’s presidential election, a large percentage of people responded, “Resist!”. The response became so widely used that even mainstream media adopted it—representing both a win and serious co-optation for the movement.
The purpose of this event is to go deeper into the intent behind the word in this political moment. Collectively, we will flesh out how we stay true to its meaning and—once more—commit ourselves to the work of resistance.
This event is Black-centered—meaning there will be a primary focus on the Black community. However, anyone is welcome to attend. Community agreements will shape moments of dialogue. This space will be safe to the extent that we all will be held accountable for the impact of our words.
