Chris’s paintings often begin autobiographically, depicting interiors of familiar domestic spaces and work environments. Exploring an ongoing theme of nightlife, while adding snippets of dreams, superstition and fantasy, he aims to infuse these spaces with psychological frisson. These are paintings of commonplace milieux, but where an altered state of consciousness subverts reality and appearances become deceptive.
