This year’s Festival’s theme, Power of the Feminine, gives continuum to female identified artists universally connected by their gender. Both behind and in front of the camera the works project the genius of their creators, great productions and wonderful cinematographies. Simple or poignant, coherent or abstract, satire or documentary, shot alone or with a crew, this year’s films and art works distill concern, vulnerability, question the norm, poke at voyeurism, comment on populism and underline social problems. In essence, the stories and artworks mirror and comment on our times by challenging the imagination and conveying poetic beauty. As founder and director of Twisted Oyster, I am proud to introduce this year’s directors and artists of Day 2 at TOFF 2017.
