Possibilities of Print: Communication and Creation
@ The Overlook Place
3323 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Tuesday, October 24th, from 7PM - 8PM
For this month’s Possibilities of Print, we are excited to feature both artists, Eileen Rae Walsh and Sam Yi Yao Chao, included in our current exhibition: Without Proper Entanglement! Partnering with Documented Dialogues, we will feature an experimental artist interview as we explore how printed information and ideas affected the artists’ abilities to communicate, collaborate, and create.
About Documented Dialogues
Documented Dialogues is a project of the Chicago Artists Coalition, is an alternative and auxiliary form of the artist interview – that initiates conversation between two parties with an active concern in the arts – and documents their dialogue as a fly on the wall, screen, or page. How might the documentation of the interview serve its content rather than abstracting it into an editorial form?
About the Program
Possibilities of Print is an experimental reading, discussion— and sharing— series that aims to explore how print has left a mark or impression on you, personally and creatively. With a focus on the power and importance of printed materials— anything including but not limited to diaries, journals, news pamphlets, magazine ads, books, street signs, etc.— we want to explore how the act of distributing and discovering physically written and printed matter affects the flow of ideas and knowledge in an artist’s life, practice, and community.
