Hume gallery presents an exhibition of cakes, photographs, and a zine by artist Jillian Hansen-Lewis.
Just Desserts focuses on women’s relationship to power, hunger, love through frosting and begs the question; can cake make everything better? The photographs feature brightly colored cakes documented in sexually significant locations. The cakes serve as monuments that celebrate both the good and bad aspects of relationships with blunt humor. Additionally, Jillian will be releasing a zine comprised of photos of food, screenshots of texts, and poems, dealing with the underlying violence of pleasure and maybe even pleasure of violence.
Please join us and enjoy a slice of cake and read some poems.
