parable of a maroon-moon ritual & a southern tree (pt. 1 & 2)(2017)
Free and Open to the Public.
Palais de Tokyo Guest Designer Andrew Schachman leads a guided tour of Singing Stones followed by a performance by The Floating Museum, entitled parable of a maroon-moon ritual & a southern tree (pt. 1 & 2) by artist Avery R. Young. Through story, sound and space, the multi-disciplinary performance piece centers around the powers of a fictional super-natural hero, named Cicero Cumbuka. Implementing repetition, call, response, and echo, this new work imagines the sound of the spaces within the syntax of a poem on page.
