The Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery presents Heather Macali’s “Transformed” at Moraine Valley Community College. Ferndale, MI contemporary fiber artist Heather Macali creates positive energy within the gallery in contrast to the overwhelming negative content covered by modern day media. Inspired by the 1980’s cartoon “Transformers”, these hand woven artworks create a space space for inner reflection and escape from adverse stimulants.
Macali is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion and Fibers Department at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She has an MFA in Textiles from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA from Kent State University. Macali has recently exhibited at Detroit Fiber Works, HEREart in NYC, and at The Foundry in St. Charles, MO.
