Visible Invisible Divisible
@ Co-Prosperity Sphere
3219 S Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Friday, July 7th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Saturday, July 22nd
Why can’t we avert our eyes?
It just sits there, the concrete-like form in all its seriousness with an irresistible seductive pull.
It must be the arrangement.
New forms, new colors, new designs can’t possibly be. Everything’s been done. We start to believe it, give into the notion, accept, appropriate and plagiarize.
To stay safe, these eight artists trust the mystery (the invisible), cull and sort out what’s uniquely seen, felt, remembered and sensed (divisible) to create or make visible for others to see a concrete object that stands forever with magnetic energy that’s new and elusive.
That’s what’s at Co-Pro! That’s what’s offered up, unique abstractions, a feast for the senses, color and design with thought, abstraction with feeling and sentiment and painting that describes the content of shape.
